The XYZ Mental Health Blog

 In XYZ Newsletter

With mental health awareness forever on the rise along with many tragedies that simply didn’t need to happen, we feel it’s important to talk about the mental health struggles that musicians encounter on a day-to-day basis.

Many students at XYZ aspire to be professional musicians one day and we would be doing a disservice to them if we weren’t completely transparent on just how difficult it can be to establish yourself whether you are a freelancer or a business owner. All levels of the industry come with their own set of struggles and sacrifices that happen as a bi-product of the choices we make.

Talking about anxiety and depression will be a staple point of this blog as we feel it’s important for students to feel they are able to talk about their struggles in these areas.

The majority of the staff upskilled last year and received a CACHE level 2 certificate in Understanding Children and Young People’s Mental Health as an attempt to improve our service as tutors and mentors.

So glad to hear this! So important for kids and music is a massive outlet for many who need to block out the ‘noise’ and go somewhere where they feel comfortable.
